28th ANNUAL BUCKS COUNTY SENIOR GAMES
If you have participated in Senior Games in past years, then come on back and join your friends.  If not, here is your chance to have fun and meet new people with the same interests as you.  Participants, for this great event, come from all over the County.  This year’s Bucks County Senior Games will be held in May and June, and over 400 seniors participate each year.  The Games are held for seniors 50 years and older. There are 22 events with something for everyone including: golf, tennis, bicycling, bowling, swimming, badminton, track and field, plus much more!  The purpose of the Games is to encourage seniors to stay healthy and active, and become more health-conscious. In addition to the sports activities, there will be a Health Expo featuring a Fashion Show and Entertainment.  The Games are co-sponsored with the Bucks County Area Agency on Aging, Bucks County Dept. of Parks and Recreation, Pennsylvania Corporation for Aging,  and Independence Blue Cross/Keystone Health Plan East.
Activities will be held at various locations throughout the county, check the listing below. Registration before May 3  will be $10 per person.  Registration after May 3 will be $13 per person. Listed here are some of the major events and locations. To all previous participants, you will get a 50% discount on your registration if you bring a NEW participant to the Games.  There will also be a 50/50 raffle with the drawing at the Awards Ceremony.
June 1 to 4  - Tennis, Core Creek Park, Woodbourne Road, Langhorne will offer 8 a.m. play for ages 60 and above. At  5:30 p.m. evening play at Central Park, Doylestown Township for those 50 to 59 years only.
June 3 – Health Expo – 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Delaware Valley College, Rt. 202, Doylestown. This event will feature health screenings, giveaways, seminars, entertainment, fashion show, bingo and refreshments. Also included that day will be men’s and women’s bocce 
June 4 – Bowling, 8:00 a.m., Brunswick Zone Lanes, Street Road, Feasterville
June 5 – OPENING CEREMONIES at Central Bucks West HS, War Memorial Field, Doylestown 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. events such as Track & Field, darts, badminton, etc.
June 7 - Golf, 6:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fairways Golf Club, Rt. 611, Warrington (Rain date June 11)
June 8 – 1p.m.to 3  p.m. Central Bucks Family YMCA, Lower State Road, Doylestown

Kid’s All American Fishing Derby

Giveaways! Prizes! Awards! All these can be yours when you participate in the third annual Kid’s All American Fishing Derby.   This very successful event will be held rain or shine. It is a catch and release derby for boys and girls ages 5 to 15 years in four age categories. Environmental Treasure Hunt
August 7 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  (Rain or shine)
Pavilion #1,  Angler’s Pier Peace Valley Park, Creek Rod, New Britain Township

GeoVentures will hold a family Geocaching program at Pavilion 1 in Peace Valley Park, Aug 7, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Come and experience a hi-tech treasure hunt right in your own back yard.  Using a hand held GPS, you and a small team will navigate the park in search of hidden containers (geocaches) related to environmental clues or puzzles.  The day will include in introduction to geocaching, a tutorial of using a GPS unit and the treasure hunt itself.  You will test your mind and body while competing for prizes.  All equipment will be supplied, including GPS units. Bring a beverage, snack and wear comfortable clothes for the weather.  The cost for this program will be $12 per person for 3 hours.  All staff are trained CPR/First Aid certified.  The minimum to hold the program will be 8 people/ maximum will be 30 people. This program is for age 10 years or 5th grade and above, and is specifacally geared towards for families only.  Please Note: Geocaching  IS NOT permitted in any County park by outside groups, individuals or organizations.  This program is sponsored by the Bucks County Dept. of Parks and Recreation and will be monitored by department staff.
